Philadelphia has been rocked by yet another mass shooting, with three people confirmed dead and ten others wounded, according to Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel.
The incident occurred late Sunday night in North Philadelphia, where gunfire erupted near a crowded intersection. Witnesses reported chaos as dozens of people scrambled for cover. Police believe multiple shooters may have been involved, and shell casings from several firearms were recovered at the scene.
Philadelphia police and emergency responders arrived quickly, transporting victims to nearby hospitals. Several of the wounded remain in critical condition as of Monday morning.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and seeking public assistance in identifying suspects.
“This level of violence is unacceptable,” Commissioner Bethel said in a brief press conference. “We are doing everything in our power to bring those responsible to justice, and we urge the public to come forward with any information.”

The shooting is the latest in a string of violent incidents that have plagued the city in 2025. With homicides and gun assaults rising despite targeted interventions, city officials continue to face mounting pressure to address public safety concerns.
Mayor Cherelle Parker expressed her condolences to the victims’ families and reiterated calls for tougher penalties on illegal gun trafficking and expanded mental health outreach.
Community leaders are planning a vigil for the victims in the coming days as Philadelphia once again mourns lives lost to senseless violence.
